XML
Extensible Markup Language is a way to create common, usable
formats of data that can be easily shared on the World Wide
Web, on intranets and for other automated uses. For example,
many international associations representing financial institutions
are lobbying for financial data to be shared using XML. This
will create a standard allowing faster distribution and sharing
of financial data, providing users (investors, analysts and
other users) with faster and more efficient methods to access,
manipulate and measure the data.
