Kurt Brenneman

Kurt Brenneman is a market researcher, specializing in the technology needs of the financial services industry. From 1999 to 2003, Kurt was an analyst for Gartner, the leading global information technology research firm. As a member of Gartner’s Financial Services unit, Kurt researched and wrote about software applications used in the banking, insurance, securities, and payments industries in both the American and international markets. Schooled in Gartner’s rigorous research methodology, Kurt also has well-honed secondary research skills using many different industry-specific information sources, as well as more general information sources, including the Internet, Federal government data, and corporate filings.

Prior to its acquisition by Gartner, Kurt worked for Mentis Corporation from 1995 to 1998 as the company’s research librarian. There, Kurt created a corporate library focused on banking and payments technology. Kurt also provided extensive primary and secondary research to Mentis’ analysts.

In addition to his work with PSI, Kurt also writes about the U.S. banking technology industry for the International Banking Systems Journal.

Kurt has a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.A. in English from Temple University.
